“When I went to my first yoga class with a friend I would never have believed that one day I would teach yoga.  I could not have dreamed that this simple practice would not only bring health to my body but also deepen my faith.

Learning how to be still and listen to my body lead me to the awareness of the still soft voice of the Holy Spirit.  Even though I spent my entire life as a member of a church, I never really got it until I learned how to listen instead of talking in prayer.  When I listened, my faith moved from my head into my heart.  It was my yoga practice that taught me to listen.

I teach a beginner’s gentle yoga class designed to release stress and tension from the body, develop strength, improve flexibility, and increase lung capacity.  In each stretch, each student uses meditation techniques to be still, release stress, focus on the breath, and become present to the body as it stretches.

It is through this process that not only physical relaxation is achieved, but also mental relaxation.  It is a body mind experience in which the body and mind are joined so that you can be still and listen.”
